Wolverhampton, July 29 – Wolverhampton Wanderers are considering a move for experienced right-back Vladimir Coufal, according to journalist Alex Crook. The Czech international, who recently parted ways with West Ham United after five solid seasons, is currently available as a free agent.
Coufal, 32, brings a wealth of Premier League experience and defensive consistency, and his availability on a free transfer could appeal to Wolves as they navigate a summer window with seemingly limited funds. Despite the club generating revenue from high-profile departures, new boss VÃtor Pereira appears to be operating under financial constraints.
Wolves have already added Fer López from Celta Vigo and Jhon Arias from Fluminense, while also finalising a permanent deal for striker Jørgen Strand Larsen, another arrival from Celta Vigo. But with the bottom half of the Premier League becoming increasingly competitive, further reinforcements may be necessary to avoid being dragged into a relegation scrap.
Coufal’s leadership, work ethic, and defensive discipline could offer Pereira a reliable short-term solution — especially in a squad that may lack depth and Premier League nous in key areas. Whether Wolves act on their interest remains to be seen, but the veteran right-back is unlikely to be short of options this summer.
