Manchester, July 28 – Manchester United remain determined in their pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, with sources indicating the player has been impressed by the club’s continued efforts to bring him to Old Trafford.
Despite Leipzig slapping an €80 million price tag on the Slovenia international, United are still exploring a deal as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the September 1 transfer deadline. Sesko, 22, has long been viewed as one of Europe’s most exciting young forwards, and his future has become one of the summer’s biggest talking points.
United have already added Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to their ranks this window, but with only Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund as recognised strikers, manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen to bolster his frontline further.
Arsenal and Newcastle have both shown interest in Sesko in recent weeks, but United appear to be leading the race. While no formal bid has been submitted, the Red Devils’ persistence and the personal touch of Amorim’s project are said to have left a positive impression on the player’s camp.
Sesko joined Leipzig from sister club Red Bull Salzburg and scored 27 goals in 64 appearances for the club so far, sparking interest across Europe.
Whether United meet Leipzig’s hefty asking price remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko is far from over.
