Newcastle, July 25 – Despite growing speculation around his future, Alexander Isak is not a target for either Manchester United or Chelsea in this summer’s transfer window.
Sources close to the situation confirm that United have never been in the race for the Newcastle United striker and have no intention of tabling a bid. While the club hold a natural appreciation for the 25-year-old’s talent, the overall cost of the deal — including transfer fee and wages — is deemed too high. United are instead pursuing alternative forward options that better align with their financial plans and squad priorities.
Similarly, Chelsea are not pursuing a move for the Swedish international, despite previous reports suggesting interest. The Blues are currently focused on securing other key targets, including Paris Saint-Germain’s Xavi Simons, as they look to reshape their attack ahead of the new season.
Isak, who is reportedly seeking wages in excess of £300,000 per week, remains a key figure at St. James’ Park, although Newcastle are believed to be exploring contingencies in the event of a high-profile departure.
As of now, Isak’s future remains unresolved — but a move to Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge appears firmly off the table.
