Manchester, July 15, 2025 — Manchester United and AC Milan have both registered serious interest in Brighton & Hove Albion left-back Pervis Estupiñán, with talks now underway on the player side, according to a joint report by Ben Jacobs, Alex Crook, and Eduardo Burgos.
United have initiated early discussions with the player’s representatives as they assess defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season. While no formal bid has been submitted to Brighton, sources confirm that the club is open to negotiating a transfer, especially after securing Belgian left-back Maxim De Cuyper earlier this summer.
Estupiñán, 27, has been a standout performer since joining Brighton in 2022, known for his pace, attacking runs, and defensive tenacity. His performances in the Premier League and for the Ecuadorian national team have attracted attention from top clubs across Europe.
AC Milan are also monitoring the situation closely, having identified Estupiñán as a potential upgrade at left-back. However, Manchester United are currently the more advanced party, having already made contact at the player level.
Brighton, known for their strategic transfer approach, are prepared to cash in on the Ecuadorian international if a suitable offer is made. With De Cuyper arriving as a long-term option, Estupiñán’s exit would fit into the club’s succession planning.
As of now, the situation remains open, but both United and Milan are expected to consider formal moves in the coming weeks.
