July 21, 2025 – Bergamo
Atalanta have officially opened talks with defender Isak Hien over a new long-term contract, reaffirming their intent to keep him at the club despite widespread transfer interest.
Hien has been regarded as “untouchable” by the Atalanta hierarchy throughout the summer. Both Serie A rivals and Premier League clubs have expressed interest in the Swedish international, but the club has consistently rejected all approaches.
Sources close to the negotiations confirm that initial discussions have already started, with Atalanta eager to reward the 25-year-old for his consistent performances and growing importance in Gian Piero Gasperini’s defensive setup.
Hien, who joined from Hellas Verona, quickly established himself as a key figure in Atalanta’s back line, known for his physicality, anticipation, and composure under pressure.
With contract talks now underway, all signs point to Hien staying in Bergamo, as Atalanta look to secure his future before the new season kicks off.
