Liverpool, July 26 – Everton have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich to sign highly rated Moroccan left-back Adam Aznou, marking the club’s first major signing under new owners, The Friedkin Group.
The Toffees will pay an initial €9 million for the 19-year-old, with a further €3 million in performance-based add-ons, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Aznou has already agreed personal terms with the Merseyside club and is expected to undergo his medical within the next 24 to 48 hours.
The young defender, who has represented Morocco at youth international level, is seen as a long-term prospect with significant upside. Aznou joined Bayern from Barcelona’s academy in 2022 and has since impressed in the Bundesliga club’s youth setup, earning admirers across Europe.
David Moyes, back at the Goodison Park helm, is keen to strengthen the left-back position ahead of the new campaign and sees Aznou as a key addition to challenge current first-choice Vitalii Mykolenko. The move signals a proactive approach from Everton as they look to rebuild and stabilise following a turbulent few seasons.
This signing also represents a statement of intent from The Friedkin Group, who completed their takeover of the club earlier this summer. With financial stability now a focus, the arrival of Aznou reflects a blend of ambition and sustainability in the new ownership’s vision.
Aznou’s imminent arrival will offer Moyes both immediate depth and long-term potential, as Everton look to prepare for the 2025/26 season with renewed optimism.
