Manchester, 20 July 2025 – Manchester United have officially completed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford in a deal worth £65 million plus an additional £6 million in performance-related add-ons.
The 25-year-old forward has signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford, with the option of a further year, becoming United’s latest attacking reinforcement as the club intensifies its rebuild under manager Erik ten Hag.
Mbeumo was a standout figure for Brentford during the opening months of the 2024–25 campaign. Following the sale of Ivan Toney and a long-term injury to summer arrival Igor Thiago, Mbeumo, alongside Yoane Wissa, carried the Bees’ attacking burden.
He responded with superb form, earning Premier League Player of the Month nominations in August, October, and January. His exploits in October also saw him shortlisted for the PFA Premier League Fans’ Player of the Month award, underlining his growing reputation as one of the division’s most consistent forwards.
Capable of playing across the front line, Mbeumo brings pace, directness, and a proven Premier League pedigree to United’s forward options. His arrival comes as the club continues to search for a long-term No.9, with Benjamin Šeško, Ollie Watkins, and Nicolas Jackson among other names being considered.
With Mbeumo now on board, Manchester United’s summer rebuild is gathering momentum—and fans will be hopeful that his dynamism can add the spark that’s been missing in their frontline.
