Bayer Leverkusen head coach Erik ten Hag has issued a firm statement regarding speculation surrounding Granit Xhaka’s future at the club, dismissing rumors of a potential departure.
“The agent of Xhaka can say whatever he wants,” Ten Hag told reporters. “But this club has already let three important players go, and we won’t let any more leave.”
Ten Hag was emphatic about the Swiss midfielder’s role and importance to his side. “Granit is a leader, and he still has three years left on his contract here,” he added.
Xhaka has been a central figure in Leverkusen’s midfield since joining from Arsenal, and with Ten Hag making his stance clear, it appears any exit this summer is off the table — regardless of outside interest or agent noise.
