Atlético Madrid have opened direct talks with the camp of Renato Veiga, signaling serious intent to sign the talented Portuguese midfielder from Chelsea this summer.
The player is keen on the move to the Spanish capital and is reportedly excited by the opportunity to work under Diego Simeone. Personal terms are not expected to be an obstacle.
Chelsea, however, are holding firm on their valuation and insist on a package worth at least €40 million for the 20-year-old, who only joined the club last season. Veiga’s versatility and potential have attracted strong interest across Europe, but Atlético are now prepared to push forward in negotiations.
