AC Milan Edge Closer to Estupiñán Signing After Reaching Agreement with Brighton

Milan, July 21, 2025 – AC Milan are closing in on the signing of Ecuadorian full-back Pervis Estupiñán after reaching an agreement in principle with Brighton & Hove Albion, as the Serie A giants look to reinforce their defence following the departure of Theo Hernández to Al-Hilal.

Initial negotiations hit a snag when Milan’s opening bid of €13 million was swiftly rejected by the Premier League side, who believed the offer fell short of their valuation. However, the Rossoneri have remained persistent, returning to the table with improved terms and now appear to have made a breakthrough.

While Brighton had originally set their asking price at €23 million, they have since lowered their demands to around €20 million, giving Milan a glimmer of hope. The Italian club are also believed to be working on a deal structure that includes performance-based add-ons to further sway the Seagulls.

Estupiñán, 27, has already agreed personal terms with Milan and is prepared to sign a four-year contract worth €2.5 million per season. The left-back, who played a pivotal role in Villarreal’s 2020–21 UEFA Europa League triumph, is seen as the ideal replacement for Hernández.

Known for his explosive pace and attacking threat down the flank, Estupiñán has been a key figure for Brighton since joining from Villarreal in 2022. Should the transfer be completed, he would bring both top-level European experience and much-needed dynamism to Milan’s back line.
