Liverpool Cool Interest in Isak After £110m Bid Rejected by Newcastle

Liverpool, August 1 – Liverpool have shelved any immediate plans to pursue Alexander Isak further this summer after seeing a staggering £110 million bid rejected by Newcastle United, sources have told us.

The audacious move would have made the Swedish international the most expensive signing in Liverpool’s history, but Newcastle’s flat-out refusal to entertain the offer has brought talks to an abrupt halt.

While personal terms with the striker were not believed to be an issue, the Magpies’ strong stance has left Liverpool with little incentive to return with an improved bid. Unless Newcastle reverse their position and reinitiate dialogue, the Merseyside club are not expected to revisit the deal in this window.

Newcastle, under no financial pressure to sell, view Isak as a central figure in their long-term project under Eddie Howe. Their instant rebuttal has been interpreted on Merseyside as a definitive ‘no’, rather than a negotiating tactic.

The 25-year-old have scored 44 goals for Newcastle in the last two Premier League seasons. Liverpool, in the market for a dynamic forward amid uncertainty over Mohamed Salah’s long-term future, saw Isak as a natural fit for Arne Slot’s evolving system.

However, unless there is a significant softening of Newcastle’s position, Liverpool are prepared to explore alternative attacking options as the window enters its final month.
