Istanbul, July 26 – Galatasaray have made an offer to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma, as the goalkeeper’s future at Paris Saint-Germain grows increasingly uncertain amid stalled contract talks.
The 26-year-old Italy international is under contract at PSG until June 2026, but the current impasse has raised serious doubts over his long-term stay in the French capital. Despite having become the club’s undisputed No.1, Donnarumma has yet to reach an agreement on a contract extension — and sources close to the negotiations suggest a departure may be on the horizon.
Talks between PSG and Donnarumma’s camp have hit a major stumbling block over proposed changes to the structure of his current deal. The Ligue 1 champions are reportedly pushing to rework the contract so that up to a third of his salary would be tied to appearance-based bonuses — a proposal Donnarumma and his representatives are firmly rejecting.
There is growing concern within the player’s camp that the revised terms could open the door to a renewed goalkeeper rotation — something Donnarumma experienced during his early days at the club. After finally cementing his status as first choice, the Italian is said to view the bonus structure as a step backwards.
With talks showing little progress, Galatasaray have sensed an opportunity and moved swiftly to express their interest. The Turkish giants are believed to have presented a formal offer, hoping to capitalise on the uncertainty at Parc des Princes and add a world-class goalkeeper to their ranks.
Whether PSG will entertain offers this summer remains to be seen, but with no extension in sight and Donnarumma unwilling to compromise, the situation could come to a head before the transfer window closes.
