London, July 25 – Arsenal have completed the signing of highly rated defender Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia in a deal worth €15 million plus performance-based add-ons.
The 21-year-old Spain Under-21 international has signed a five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium, with the option for a further year. The Gunners beat several top European clubs to Mosquera’s signature, underlining their belief in his immense potential.
Primarily a right-sided centre-back, Mosquera brings versatility to Mikel Arteta’s defensive options with his ability to operate across the entire backline. Known for his pace, composure on the ball, and strong positioning, he is viewed internally as a long-term solution in Arsenal’s back four.
Arsenal’s scouting department and technical staff rate Mosquera as one of the most exciting defensive prospects in Europe, and see him as a natural fit for the club’s high-intensity, progressive playing style. His arrival adds further depth to a defensive unit already boasting the likes of William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, and Ben White.
The move aligns with Arsenal’s continued focus on building a youthful, competitive squad capable of challenging for major honours in the coming years. Mosquera will link up with the team ahead of pre-season preparations, with fans eager to see how quickly he can adapt to Premier League football.
