Manchester, July 22, 2025 – Manchester United are currently not expected to make a move for Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson this summer, despite his name being discussed internally at Old Trafford.
While the Senegal international is understood to be admired within United’s recruitment team, sources indicate that a lot would need to change for the club to launch a formal bid in the coming weeks. At this stage, any potential move has been downplayed, with the likelihood of a transfer described as “unlikely” under the current circumstances.
Jackson, who joined Chelsea in 2023 from Villarreal, has shown flashes of his potential in the Premier League, and his profile fits the mould of a forward United might consider as part of their long-term planning. However, with other priorities in the market and no clear path to a deal at present, the situation appears dormant for now.
That said, the door has not been completely shut. A move is not considered impossible, particularly given the respect Jackson commands among key figures at United. But unless conditions shift significantly—whether in terms of Chelsea’s stance, United’s outgoing business, or developments elsewhere—a bid remains off the table.
For now, Jackson remains a Chelsea player, and Manchester United are focused on alternative targets as they shape their squad for the 2025/26 campaign.
