Liverpool, 20 July 2025 – Liverpool are in the final stages of negotiations with Eintracht Frankfurt for the signing of French forward Hugo Ekitike, sources confirm. Talks between the two clubs are now centred on the structure of add-ons, with all parties optimistic that a full agreement could be reached by the end of the weekend or early next week.
The Merseyside club have stepped up their efforts in recent days, presenting an improved offer that brings the total package close to €90 million. Discussions over performance-related bonuses and instalments remain ongoing.
Ekitike, 22, joined Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain in February 2024 on an initial loan before making the move permanent two months later. The striker enjoyed a breakout campaign in his first full season in Germany, netting 15 goals in 33 Bundesliga appearances. His performances not only helped Frankfurt secure a seventh-place finish but also earned him a spot in the 2024–25 Bundesliga Team of the Season.
With Liverpool prioritising attacking reinforcements ahead of the new campaign, Ekitike has emerged as a prime target. The France international’s blend of pace, physicality, and finishing ability fits well into Arne Slot’s attacking plans.
