Antwerp Goalkeeper Senne Lammens on Manchester United’s Radar

Manchester, 20 July 2025 – Manchester United have shown renewed interest in Antwerp’s promising young goalkeeper Senne Lammens, with initial discussions already taking place this summer, sources indicate.

The 22-year-old shot-stopper has been on United’s radar since at least January, and the club appears to be keeping close tabs on his development. With question marks surrounding the long-term depth of United’s goalkeeping department, Lammens is seen as a potential option for the future.

Lammens began his career at Club Brugge’s youth academy, where he rose to prominence in dramatic fashion. In a memorable UEFA Youth League clash in December 2019, the then 17-year-old made headlines by scoring a last-gasp equaliser against Real Madrid’s youth team. His 95th-minute header secured a 2-2 draw and sent Brugge into the knockout rounds of the tournament — a rare feat for a goalkeeper.

Now at Royal Antwerp, Lammens has gained first-team experience and is considered one of Belgium’s brightest young talents between the sticks. Manchester United’s interest reflects a broader strategy to identify long-term prospects, especially with veteran cover behind current No.1 André Onana.

Lammens might even come in as the first-choice keeper since Onana came under fire for his costly mistakes last season.

It remains to be seen whether United will formalise their interest with a bid, but with early talks underway, Lammens could be one to watch as the Red Devils continue to build for the future.
