London, 20 July 2025 – NEOM SC have ended their pursuit of Chelsea centre-back Axel Disasi, with the Saudi club now turning their attention to alternative defensive options.
Disasi had emerged as a potential target for NEOM earlier in the window, and initial discussions were held to explore the feasibility of a deal. However, it’s understood the move will not progress, with the Saudi outfit deciding to shift focus to other centre-back profiles that better align with their current squad strategy.
The French international joined Chelsea from AS Monaco last summer and made a solid impression in his debut Premier League campaign. However, he fell out of favour the following season and was loaned out to Aston Villa last season.
Enzo Maresca doesn’t have the defender in his plans, so the Londoners are actively seeking a buyer for him. While NEOM showed early interest, latest developments suggest, they have lost interest.
NEOM SC remain active in the market as they continue building out their squad, with further reinforcements expected across several positions before the close of the transfer window.
