Munich, July 20, 2025 — Bayern Munich are preparing to submit a new offer for Luis Díaz as they continue their push to sign the Colombian winger from Liverpool, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Díaz remains Bayern’s top attacking target this summer and the German champions are determined to reach an agreement after seeing a previous €67.5 million bid rejected.
Liverpool remain firm in their stance, having already turned down approaches in June and again this month. However, Bayern are undeterred and believe there’s still a path to securing the 28-year-old, who is reportedly open to a new challenge.
In the meantime, Bayern are exploring alternatives should Liverpool continue to block Díaz’s departure. One of those options is Malick Fofana, the highly rated 19-year-old winger from Olympique Lyonnais. Romano reports that Bayern have already made contact with Fofana’s camp to inquire about the conditions of a possible deal.
Fofana is seen as a rising talent in European football. While not a direct replacement for Díaz in experience, Bayern view him as a high-upside project should their top target prove unattainable.
Talks with Liverpool are expected to continue, but the club’s resolve and Díaz’s own stance will ultimately determine the next steps.
